A 9-week drafting session in his 8th grade shop class led David to realize his career aspirations. The concept of drafting was new and intriguing to him. After asking his instructor what he could do with this newfound interest, he uncovered that a career in architecture was where he was headed.

“What I quickly discovered is that I’m passionate about taking dreams to reality, creating 3D environments that not only serve a functional purpose, but affect the human soul; the bringing together of emotions and purposes beyond the tangible, yet within the tangible.”

David pursued this interest at Kansas State University, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Architecture before joining a team of architects formerly known as Howard + Helmer architecture. His focus soon expanded to designing for businesses, hospitals and higher education centers. With clients from a variety of states requesting services, David gained licensure in 8 different states.

In his spare time, David actively mentors and has written a book about the topic. His family enjoys spending time at their Ontario, Canada lake house soaking up the great outdoors. Hiking, biking, camping, canoeing and taking naps in his hammock are just a few of the many things he loves about our Northern neighbor.
