The Church of the Magdalen parish in Wichita was being uprooted from their home of nearly 50 years to make way for an expanding highway. Finding a new home, the parish moved 7 miles away to the expanding northeast side of Wichita. Elements of the old “round” Church can be found in the new space as seen in their curved pews and stained glass clerestory, but the new design has a style all its own. This 132,000 square foot facility includes a new 1,500 seat sanctuary, adoration chapel, gathering space, parish hall and an administrative office area. Also included is a K-8 grade educational facility that accommodates 500 students.
