After the existing church building was destroyed by fire following a lightning strike, the parish sought to rebuild a space that would continue to serve as the heart of faith and community life. This 7,500 square foot project balanced reverence for the original church with modern functionality. The design preserved the integrity of the original structure while creating a welcoming environment. Key elements were meticulously reconstructed, existing stained glass was repurposed, and the original design language was reinforced. Modern amenities were added to improve functionality without compromising the spiritual and familiar feel of the space. The new church now serves as a home for the parish and provides a renewed environment while standing as a lasting fixture within the Fort Scott community for generations to come.
