USD 262 Valley Center

Supplemental Center

Valley Center, KS

The Valley Center Supplemental Learning Center provides a shared home for five non-traditional student programs while creating a dedicated environment designed to support a diverse range of learning needs. Previously housed in separate facilities, including locations outside the district, these five programs now share a 12,300 sqft building that encourages connection while providing each program with spaces tailored to its unique needs.

At the heart of the building is a shared Commons that provides opportunities for students and staff from all five programs to gather and interact. Specialized classrooms support individual program requirements while dedicated administrative spaces provide needed support for staff. A flexible, dual-use kitchen serves both daily food service needs and student projects as well as adds another layer of functionality to the learning environment.

By consolidating these programs into one thoughtfully designed facility, Valley Center USD has created a more accessible and connected home for students who have historically been underserved. This provides them with spaces designed to support learning, growth, and belonging.
