The facility resides across the street from St. Francis’ main campus, and as such, needed to be visually incorporated into the existing buildings. The exterior material palette was selected to complement the new buildings at the hospital. A desire to provide natural daylight into every space of the facility called for large scale and continuous overhead windows leading into the building’s core.
The 37,000 square foot facility provides 4 nurse stations, 24 exam rooms for the Specialty Clinics program and another 24 exam rooms for the Family Medicine program. A shared diagnostic center, medical records office and support offices form the building’s hub. Exam rooms were designed to be adaptable for the Kansas University Medical residency program.
